Membership Registration Special for 2011
For the year of 2011, only, the Free Registration that is a benefit of your 2011 Membership, can be applied to any age horse. Normally, the free registration must be applied to a foal of the year, for which your membership is paid. The free registration cannot be applied to a transfer of ownership, only a new application for registration, on any age horse.

2011 NSSHA Awards Banquet
The Annual NSSHA Awards Banquet was held Jan. 30, 2011 at the Patterson Park Center, Murfreesboro, Tn. Approximately 275 persons attended the annual event, and enjoyed a fun filled evening. A potluck dinner was enjoyed by all. A Silent Auction was held to benefit the 2011 Spring Show, entertainment for the night included Spotted Saddle Horse Trivia, and Horse Bingo, with lots of nice prizes.
Derek Fann served as Master of Ceremonies for the event, and Tom Oakley served as photographer. Awards were presented by Judy Pugh & Dorinda Mankin.
Receiving Awards were the following:
Trail Horse Recognition Awards: Jack Kwok of Delaware, Ohio rode a total of 140 hours in 2010, and 52 hours in 2009, for a total of 192 Hours of Trail Riding, having completed the second level of recognition in our Trail Horse Program
Kathy Kerchelich of Moreno Valley, Ca rode a total of 173 & 1/2 hourse in 2010, completing the second level of recognition.
Advertising Awards of Excellence: Awards are presented to individuals who secured $1000 or more in Corporate Sponsors during 2010. Receiving the awards were:

Supreme Champion Awards: The Bronze Supreme National Champion Award is presented to Horses who have won 10 Blue Ribbon wins throughout their show career with NSSHA, awards were presented, as follows:

Horse of the Year Awards: The Horse of the Year Awards are presented to exhibitors who win points from their placings at all NSSHA Shows throughout the Season. The exhibitors must accumulate at least 75 points, in their class division, and the horse with the greatest tally of points in each division, wins the Horse of the Year title in those class divisions. NSSHA Junveile, Amateur & Trainer of the Year Awards: The Juvenile & Amateur Exhibitor of the Year receives a total tally of all points earned throughout the year, on all horses show, in all divisions. The Trainer of the Year Award is calculated from points received from the placings of all trained horses from his or her barn, shown either by himself or herself, or by their Amateur & Juvenile Exhibitors. This years awards were presented to the following individuals:

Corporate Sponsors Sought for 2011
The NSSHA Office Staff and Members of the Board of Directors are in the process of contacting potentional Corporate Sponsors for the 2011 Show Season. The Corporate Sponsorships are vital to our success, and are needed, especially during these difficult economic times, to assist in daily operations, and the presentation of our Major Shows.
If you have not yet been contacted, and are interested in becoming a Corporate Sponsor, please contact the NSSHA office, or one of the Members of the Board of Directors. We offer an information package for the Sponsorships, as well as committment forms. The Corporate Sponsorships are offered to Individuals as well as Businesses. The sponsorships do not have to be paid all at one time, the fee can be broken down into payments, with the final payment due by Sept. 1
We appreciate your consideration and support of our Industry. Many of you have been repeat Corporate Sponsors for many years, your continuing financial assistance is greatly appreciated. Please consider us in your budget for 2011.
New Rule Regarding Trainers Liscenses
Effective Jan. 1, 2011, all Trainers, when applying for their Trainers liscense, Must Purchase their Annual Membership, if they have not already done so. No trainers liscense will be issued, until current NSSHA Membership is verified, or purchased.
Updated New Rule for Amateur Owned & Trained Horses
Please review the new rules pertaining to all horses and exhibitors entering into Amateur Owned & Trained Divisions. There is a section regarding the transportation of Amateur Owned & Trained entries, which applies to Trainers, as well.

Member/Exhibitor Rule Clarification
Beginning with the 2009 Show Season, all Owners of Horses, Trainers, & Exhibitors must be a Current Dues paid NSSHA Member (or be included on your families listing of individuals on their Family Membership), in good standing, to participate in NSSHA Shows. This Rule was previously added to our website, under additions to the Rule Book; however, we have been asked to make this Rule clarification.

A Total of 75 Points Needed to be
Considered for Year End Awards
The Board of Directors, approved the Following: In order for a Horse, or exhibitor, to eligible for a Year End Award, a total of 75 points must be accumulated in any Division. Any division that has horses or exhibitors with less than 75 points, will not be eligible for the title/award. Please visit our website, for a listing of shows, and the points to be awarded at each show. Information regarding the Show Dates & information, to date, is included in this Newsletter.

Incentive Program Classes Defined
The Breeders Incentive Committee, along with the Board of Directors has approved the decision: That at this time, until further notice, the 2 Year Old Breeders Incentive Classes, Classic & Legacy, will be Model Horse at Halter Classes.
We urge owners and breeders to join in this Program.

NSSHA Seeking Corporate
Sponsors & Spring Show Sponsors
The NSSHA Office & Members of the Board of Directors are currently seeking Corporate Sponsors, as well as Spring Show Sponsors. The Corporate Sponsorship Program assists in the presentation of our Three Major Shows, Spring, Mid-Season & Championship Shows, as well as day-to-day Operations.
We are asking everyone to assist us in this area. If you are unable to Re-new your Corporate Sponsor, or become a New Corporate Sponsor, please become a Sponsor for the Spring Show, a one night Show sponsor, or a Sponsor for the other two Major Shows, the Mid-Season & Championship.
Sponsorships are vital to the success of our Shows. During these difficult times, please continue to support the NSSHA, even if you can only do Ribbon Sponsorships. Any assistance that anyone can give will be greatly appreciated.
Also, please remember, Any individual who secures $1000 or more in Corporate Sponsorships will receive an Advertising Award of Excellence at the Annual Awards Banquet. NSSHA TO CONTINUE REGISTERING SABINO HORSES
The NSSHA will continue to register Sabino Horses, indefinitely. The Association is committed to making registration available for all horses that qualify by color and gait. Once your $50 Annual Family Membership fee is paid, any horse qualifying by color and gait can be registered for the very low fee of $30.00, regardless of age.
NEW POLICY ON OUTSTANDING DEBTS
All advertising debts (Journal & Calendar) and Class Sponsorship Debts are Due within 30 Days of Billing, with a late fee of $20.00 added on the 31st Day, and $20 on every 31st day thereafter, until paid. After 60 Days of non-payment, the individual or business will be added to the Bad Debt list, which is published, and also, which will appear on our web site.
Corporate Sponsorships must pay half of the fee by July 31, and the remaining Balance by Sept. 1. Non-payment by the required date will result in being barred from association events, until payment is received.
